Thanksgiving Indian

Lauren's kindergarten class celebrated Thanksgiving and everyone dressed up as Pilgrims and Indians. With not a pilgrim costume to be found (and certainly not sewed) Lauren automatically became an Indian.

She apparently needed lots of accessories and feathers too.

They feasted on turkey and dressing and all the trimmings at school, including 'raspberry sauce'. Apparently she'd never heard of cranberry sauce. Too funny. Of course their favorite part -- the spice cake.

Our Spook-tacular Night

We had an awesome time trick or treating our neigborhood last night. We have a barrel of candy to prove it.

Lauren was a witch.

Spencer was Anakin Skywalker from the cartoon series.

Stuart was Leatherface and built a spooky scene in the garage. He made our visitors 'work' for their candy. The screams could be heard throughout the neighborhood. And that was just the guys.

The cool night kept us moving fast and even stopping back by the house to unload candy and warm up downstairs. We had lots of activity on our street and with the grave yard scene in the front yard with spooky music, skeletons and a fog machine our house was pretty popular. By 9pm we had to close it up to keep the teenagers away. We were all cold, tired and ready for that extra hour of sleep. Until next year......hope your Halloween was spectacular.

End of Summer Pool Fun

For the first time the kids have really enjoyed the water this summer. No more fear of getting their faces wet has been fabulous. They've taken to the pool like fish and are just right there on swimming alone. As Labor Day approaches, here are a few favorite pics from the summer.

Chattanooga Trip

On a quick get away before school started, we headed to Chattanooga. We rode the river boat one rainy morning.


But the sun finally came out and we had a fun time.

School Days

We started school this week. Lauren started Kindergarten and was thrilled. Spencer went into 2nd grade and...not so much. He knew what they were getting into!
